Thus far in the year 2022, we have been privileged to witness absolute bombshells of watch releases and the gossip in the air is that we aren’t stopping any time soon. When Omega X Swatch released the new Swatch MoonSwatch, many jaws dropped in awe at the brilliancy of that move by Omega, but seemingly it wasn’t the only smart card played on the table. The Seamaster has walked its way into being a mainstay in the portfolio of the Omega Brand and it is one of their collections that have been effectively etched in their history books. First making its arrival in 1948, it has managed to stay in production ever since with the collection in particular exuding quality with every one of its releases. It has also played host to a wide range of styles, materials, hues and complications if you may and is further divided into four sub-categories itself

This watch makes its entrance into the exclusive group of sports dive watches and the entry level of the Seamaster 300M series. It is fair to say that this collection has come to stay in the Omega line up with the diver 300M collection first introduced in 1993 and further revamped in 2018 and even though it appeared as though OMEGA was resistant for a while, it is only right that they paid attention to feedback from the watch community and gave us a Seamaster in such a hot color as GREEN. Talk about a fan favorite and we talk about a watch whose 10 o’clock helium escape valve and excellent wave-textured dial has endeared adventure lovers to it since 1993 with most people associating the model range with Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond 007 and while his was blue, we have seen the brand expand on the color offerings of the watch in 2018 with the Introduction of a white dial version with a black bezel and also a silver dial version with a muted blue bezel to go alongside it. And even though this green version is one that accompanies the latest evolution of the SEAMASTER Diver 300M down to the wire, it still comes with a 42mm wide stainless-steel case with a diving bezel that comes with a ceramic insert to fit. The green insert is polished to a tee with a high gloss and also has a white enamel scale. Also, the screw down crown is surrounded by crown guards and there is the trademark conical helium escape valve at 10 o’clock.

The Dial is a zirconium oxide ceramic and there is the laser, engraved with a minimal set of waves to match. The modern diver 300M still retains some of its erstwhile aesthetic features such as the twisted lugs and the faceted bezel design that make it so conspicuous on the wrist and ever recognizable even from a far way out. The Diver 300M is also elegantly placed on a bracelet made with stainless steel that also comes with a cute green rubber strap that further complements it’s looks. This patented screw-and- pin bracelet comes with new integration to the case that enables it go from 20mm to 18mm.

It was only sensible for Omega to equip this timepiece with ones of its most reliable Calibre 8800s and that’s what they did. With a silicon balance spring, a rhodium plated finish, a Co-Axial escapement and a master chronometer METAS Certification, this watch is equipped with updated features that you can’t help but admire. These set of features enables it to run at a frequency of 25,200 vph and also provides more than 2 days of active running time.

With a shade of green that’s almost military-esque, the watch exudes timekeeping confidence. From the blue emission of the hour and seconds hands to the green emission of the minute’s hands, this watch makes you want to drop every penny of the $5100 it costs on the rubber strap and every dime of the $5400 on the bracelet.
