Orient Watch was founded in Tokyo by Shogoro Yoshida, more than a century ago in 1901. Among watch companies in Japan, Orient was ranked third, following behind Seiko and Citizen. What sets Orient apart from other watch companies is the fact that Orient has always been focusing on making its mechanical movements better and more reliable. It is unusual today to find a watch company that makes its own movement selling watches at prices offered by Orient.

For those who aren't too familiar with the Orient watch brand, you may have only heard about the Bambino, Ray, Kano, Mako, Mako USA, Triton, and the Kamasu collection lines. Here at Strapcode, we have designed several custom fitted watch bands specifically for Orient watch models which includes: Mako II, Ray II, Triton, and the Kamasu.

As a watch enthusiast, I found the blog post about the fascinating change of ORIENT watches quite interesting. It’s impressive how the brand has evolved over the years, from producing mechanical watches to introducing quartz and solar-powered timepieces. The attention to detail and quality is apparent in their designs, which have improved with time.
I particularly liked the mention of ORIENT’s signature ‘Sun and Moon’ collection, which features a unique dual-time function and exquisite craftsmanship. It’s exciting to see how the brand has embraced innovation and technology while still maintaining its roots and heritage.
